How to remove a payment method from patient chart
If you need to delete a saved payment method from a patient's chart, follow the steps below.
1. Access the Payments Tab: Navigate to the patient’s chart and click on the Payments tab.

2. Locate the Payment Methods: Within the Payments tab, scroll to the Charge Cards and Bank Accounts section, you’ll see a list of saved cards and accounts.
3. Click the Trash Icon: Next to the card or account name you want to remove, click the trash icon to delete the payment method.
4. Confirm the Deletion: A confirmation dialog will appear, click Confirm to permanently delete the payment method.
Important Notes
- Preferred Cards Cannot Be Deleted: If the method is marked as Preferred, you must unmark it before it can be deleted.
- Cards Used as Payment MethodsCannot Be Deleted: If the card or account is being used as the payment method of a membership plan or issued invoices, you must change it before it can be deleted.
- At Least One Card Required: You cannot delete the only card on file. There must be at least one payment method associated with the patient chart.
