Task Management in SigmaMD


SigmaMD’s task management system is an integral component designed to streamline daily workflows and enhance productivity within your practice. Let’s explore the architecture of a task in SigmaMD and how this feature can be utilized to its full potential.

Introduction to Tasks

In SigmaMD, tasks reside within a dedicated screen named ‘Tasks,' which pairs seamlessly with the Calendar. This duo provides a holistic view of your daily schedule and your to-do list. Tasks are displayed in an easy-to-navigate table format, showing all pertinent information at a glance, and also on the calendar to not missing any deadlines.

Tip: Click Archived tasks in the top right of the ‘Tasks’ screen to review completed or dismissed tasks from previous periods.

Anatomy of a Task

Each task in the SigmaMD system encapsulates various elements that provide comprehensive details about the task at hand:

Title: A concise description of the task, it will be its name.

Assignee: The team member responsible for completing the task, fostering accountability within your team.

Status: This indicates whether the task is pending or completed.

Priority: Tasks can be marked as 'High Priority' to signal urgency to the team.

Patient: When applicable, the patient associated with the task is listed to link tasks directly to patient care.

Due Date: The deadline by which the task needs to be completed, helping with time management.

Recurring Tasks: Tasks can be set to repeat at specific intervals, useful for regular workflows like patient follow-ups.

Categories: These help organize tasks by type, such as Administrative, Patient Care, or Research, enabling users to filter and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Description – A free-text field for adding important context or instructions.


Attachments – Upload documents directly from your computer. If the task is linked to a patient, attachments are automatically saved to their files.
