Updating a Patient's Email Address

You can update a patient's email address directly from their chart in SigmaMD. Follow the steps below to make the change.

Updating an Email Address

  • Navigate to the Patient Chart

    From the main menu, go to the Patients screen and select the desired patient to open their chart.

  • Access Patient Details

    Click on the View patient details icon at the top of the chart.

  • Edit Contact Details

    In the Contact tab, locate the Contact Details section and click the pencil icon to edit.

  • Enter New Email Address

    Replace the old email address with the new email address and click Save.

An email address is no longer required in a patient chart unless the patient has already created a Patient Portal account.

  • Notification Sent

    Once saved, the patient will automatically receive a notification about the email address update.
