Can I Pause a Deferred Membership?
If you're managing a membership that hasn't started yet—labeled as Deferred—you won’t see the option to pause it. That’s because only active memberships can be paused.

But there’s a simple workaround: you can reschedule the start date.
What to do:
If a patient needs to delay their membership—for example, due to travel or personal reasons—just edit the membership and push the start date out to a future date that works for them. This way, they won't be charged or considered active until the new start date arrives.

Why this works:
Deferred memberships are in a pending state. Since they haven’t started billing or coverage yet, pausing isn’t applicable. Adjusting the start date ensures everything stays aligned with the patient’s needs, without causing billing confusion.
