Creating Text Snippets

Text snippets are custom, reusable text blocks you can create and use across SigmaMD to save time and ensure consistency in communication. You’ll trigger them using the /  shortcut followed by the snippet name.

This is especially helpful for common phrases, onboarding instructions, follow-up messages, or anything you frequently type.


How to Create a New Snippet

To create and manage your snippets, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Practice Settings: From the left-hand navigation menu, click Practice Settings, then go to the Templates section.

  2. Open the Snippets Tab: Inside the Templates area, switch to the Snippets template tab.


  3. Click "New" to Add a Snippet: Use the + Snippet template button at the top right corner of the table to start a new snippet.

  4. Create and Add the Snippet Details: In the form that opens, enter the following.
  • Status: Set the snippet as Active or Inactive. Inactive snippets won’t show in suggestions.
  • Name: A short identifier used after the /  to call the snippet.
  • Shortcut: A short identifier used after the /  to call the snippet. (e.g., /followup ).
  • Body: The full text that will be inserted when the snippet is used. You can format it using basic rich text and variables to personalize the text.

    Click Save to store your snippet.


By building a few key snippets, you'll speed up your day-to-day work and keep your communication style consistent across the team.
