Creating a Task from a Fax

You can turn any fax into a follow-up task—helping your team take timely action on patient referrals, lab orders, or incoming documents.

How to Create a Task from a Fax

  1. Open the fax

    Go to the Inbox, click the Fax tab, and select the fax you want to take action on.

  2. Click “Link to Task”

    At the top-right corner of the fax preview, click the task icon. This will open the task creation panel, side-by-side with the fax.

  3. Fill in task details

    Complete the fields as needed:

    • Title is required.
    • Select a Patient if the task relates to one.
    • Choose a due date, priority, and optionally set recurrence, category, add notes in the description or attach file.

  4. Click Create

    Once done, click Create to save the task.

  5. View the Task

    To access the task you just created, go to the Tasks tab in the left-hand menu.

    You can quickly locate it by searching for the assignee, patient name, or task title.
