Mastering the Fax Inbox
SigmaMD’s Fax Inbox is designed to help you stay organized and quickly find what you need.
How to Search a Fax
Use the search bar at the top of the fax inbox to find faxes by typing the Patient name.
Start typing, and results will update instantly to match your query.
How to Use Filters
Click the filter icon next to the search bar to narrow down your view. You can filter by:
- Only starred – See just the faxes you've marked as important
- Only sent – View only outgoing faxes
- Only received – View only incoming faxes
- Show archived faxes – Include archived faxes in the list
You can combine search and filters to quickly find specific faxes, no matter how long ago they were created or what status they have.
Understanding Drafts, Inbound, and Outbound Faxes
Your fax inbox shows different types of messages—each with a clear icon and label to help you quickly identify their status:
Drafts: These are unsent faxes still being composed. They appear with a document icon and a “Draft” label. You can open and complete them later.
Inbound faxes: These are received messages. They show a downward arrow icon and list the sender’s fax number. If no assignee is added yet, the fax will display as “Unassigned.”
Outbound faxes: These are sent messages. They display an upward arrow icon and include the recipient’s fax number. If something went wrong, you’ll also see a “Transmission failed” alert.
