How to Use Scribe for Telehealth
SigmaMD Scribe is now available for Telehealth visits. This feature helps clinicians capture high-quality, voice-based clinical notes during telemedicine.
Prerequisites
Before using Scribe, make sure your practice has at least one Scribe-enabled note template.
You can use the default SOAP template provided by SigmaMD, or create/customize your own templates, following this guide.
Using Scribe During a Call
Step 1: Start a New Telehealth
- Open the patient chart.
- Select Start Call to begin the Telehealth session.
- Wait for the patient to join.
Step 2 - Start Scribe
- Click the Scribe button at the bottom.
- Choose the desired template and click Start Recording.

Step 3: During the Visit
- Pause/Resume Recording: You can pause and resume the recording at any time.
- Timer: A timer shows the current length of the recording.
- You can navigate away from the screen while Scribe is recording—your session will not be interrupted.
Step 4: Generating the Note
- When the visit is complete, click Generate.
Scribe will transcribe the recording and produce a structured clinical note.
Reminders
- Processing may take a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on visit length.
- The note will follow the selected template.
- Generating a note does not close the Telehealth session.
- Closing the Telehealth browser window while recording may cause inaccuracies.
- If you attempt to end the call while recording, Scribe will prompt you to pause and generate a note before closing.
- Be sure to always review the note for accuracy and completeness before signing.
