How to Configure Clinician’s Working Hours
You can set up your working hours in SigmaMD to define when you’re available for appointments. This includes adding shifts, customizing schedules by day, and specifying appointment and visit types.
Set Up Working Hours
-
Go to Personal Settings > Working Hours.

-
Click + Shift in the top right corner. The Add Working Hours panel will open.

- On the left side set time and days:
- Select the start and end time.
- Choose the clinic location if applicable.
- Select the days of the week this schedule applies to.
-
Use the + icon to add another time range (for example, morning and afternoon blocks).
This allows you to create split shifts, such as 9:00am–12:00pm and 1:00pm–5:00pm.
- On the right side, configure visit types and appointments. Only the enabled appointment and visit types will be available for scheduling during that specific time range:
- Toggle appointment types on or off for this time block.
- Click on the icons to select which visit types are available:
- In-clinic
- Telehealth
- Phone
- At-home
-
Click Save when done.

Edit or Remove Working Hours
From the Working Hours screen:
- Click on Manage shift to edit a day.
- Adjust times, location, days, or appointment types as needed. Or remove a shift altogether.
- Save your changes.

To remove a day, click on the delete icon on the corresponding row.
How Working Hours Affect Scheduling
Your configured working hours determine:
- When patients can self-schedule.
- Which appointment types are available on specific days.
- Which visit formats (in-clinic, telehealth, etc.) are offered per shift.
- Availability by location.
If a time block does not include a specific appointment type or visit type, patients will not see it as an option during that time.
Keeping your working hours accurate ensures your calendar reflects your real availability and avoids scheduling conflicts.
