How to Configure Clinician’s Working Hours
You can set up your working hours in SigmaMD to define when you’re available for appointments. This includes adding shifts, customizing schedules by day, and specifying appointment and visit types.
Set Up Working Hours
-
Go to Personal Settings > Working Hours.
- Turn on the toggle for each day you want to work.
- Add start and end times for your shifts.
-
Example: 09:00–12:00 and 13:00–17:00.
-
-
To add more than one shift in a day, click Add shift. To remove a shift, click the X button.
- Repeat this process for each day of the week.
If your practice has multiple locations, you will also see a field to choose a location next to each shift. This directly impacts what patients see when self-scheduling. Only patients assigned to that location will be able to book in-clinic appointments during shifts tied to that same location.

Configure Shifts
Each shift can be customized to define what type of appointments you’ll accept during that time.
-
Next to a shift, click Configure shift.
- In the configuration window, choose the appointment types (e.g., Follow-up, New Patient, Physical Exam).
- Select the visit types available for each appointment:
- In-clinic
- Telehealth
- Phone consultation
- At-home
- Your shift configuration is automatically saved.
Save Your Schedule
When you finish adding shifts and configuring appointment types:
- Review your working hours.
- Click Save at the bottom of the screen to apply your changes.
Your schedule will now be reflected in SigmaMD and visible to patients when booking appointments. Adjusting shifts ensures patients only see the times and appointment types you want to make available. You can update your working hours at any time.
