Managing refill requests written in a different EMR

If you just migrated from another EMR to SigmaMD, it's common that a few things will remain as legacy from your previous EMR. Such is the case for Refill requests for medications that were prescribed in the previous EMR.

When handling refill requests in SigmaMD, it’s best to avoid approving prescriptions that were originally written in another EMR system. Instead, issue a new prescription for the same medication directly in SigmaMD using the DoseSpot module.

Doing this helps in two important ways:

• It ensures the patient receives the medication they need without delays.
• It keeps the prescription properly documented within SigmaMD, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
