How to Start a Telehealth Visit For a Care Recipient

When a patient has one or more caregivers linked to their profile, clinicians can now start a telehealth call and choose which caregiver to invite — without leaving the care recipient’s chart.

Steps

1. Open the patient chart

   Navigate to the patient’s chart and click the Start Call icon at the bottom toolbar.

2. Initiate Telehealth

   When starting the telehealth visit, a dialog will appear asking you to select the caregiver who should be notified.

   • Only caregivers who have an active SigmaMD account will appear in the list.

3. Confirm the selection

   Review the caregiver’s name and relationship with the care recipient  (e.g., John Doe – Father, Chris Doe – Mother), then click Confirm to start the call.

   • The call begins using the caregiver’s information but remains linked to the care recipient’s chart.
   • You don’t need to navigate away from the patient’s page.

Important

If a Scribe note is generated during a call with the caregiver, the note will be correctly placed at the care recipient chart.
