How To Give a Discount on an Ongoing Membership
You can apply discounts to ongoing memberships directly from a patient’s active plan. Discounts can be offered as a fixed dollar amount or a percentage, and you can also limit them to a specific number of billing cycles. This ensures your practice can run promotions, support patients with temporary financial needs, or offer loyalty adjustments while keeping billing clear and predictable.
Accessing the Pricing Editor
- Open the patient’s Membership page.
- Under the active plan, navigate to the Pricing section.
- Click Edit pricing to open the pricing editor.

The editor displays the membership subtotal and the current total rate.
Adding a Discount
In the Extra discount field, you can choose the type of discount you want to apply:
1. Amount Discount
- Select $ from the dropdown.
- Enter the discount amount.
- The Total rate updates automatically based on the new price.

2. Percentage Discount
- Select % from the dropdown.
- Enter the discount percentage.
- The system calculates the adjusted rate and displays the updated Total rate.

This flexibility allows you to match your practice’s pricing strategy, whether it’s a simple flat reduction or a percentage-based promotion.
Setting a Discount Cycle Limit
If the discount should only apply for a limited time, you can set a cycle limit.
- Toggle Set cycle limit on.
- Enter the number of cycles the discount should remain active.

After the limit is reached, the system automatically returns the membership to the standard rate without requiring manual intervention.
This is especially useful for onboarding promotions, introductory pricing, or temporary support plans.
Saving the Changes
Once you’ve configured the discount:
- Review the Total rate to confirm the final amount.
- Click Save to apply the changes to the patient’s ongoing membership.

The updated rate will be reflected in all future invoices, following the cycle limit if one was set.
