Error: “EPCS TX OPTION NOT CONFIGURED FOR PRESCRIBER”

This error usually occurs shortly after EPCS permissions are newly added or updated for a prescriber.

According to Surescripts, it can take 24–48 hours for pharmacies to recognize updated EPCS permissions. If a controlled substance prescription is sent before this update has fully propagated, the pharmacy may reject it with this error.

What to Do

  • Wait 24–48 hours after EPCS permissions are updated before sending controlled substance prescriptions.
  • If the error continues after 72 hours, contact our support team for assistance.
