Menu Indicators: Counters and Priority Dots

To make it easier to stay on top of what matters, the main menu now includes visual indicators that highlight items needing your attention. These cues help you quickly spot priority tasks and unread messages — without interrupting your workflow.

Tasks: High-Priority Alerts

The Tasks menu item now shows a red dot when:

  • There is at least one high-priority task
  • The task is in To Do
  • The due date is today or in the past

This means there’s something time-sensitive waiting for you. No numbers — just a clear signal that action is needed. If you see the dot, it’s worth checking your task list before moving on.

Messaging: Unread Counters and Urgency Indicators

The Messaging section now includes both counters and colored indicators to give you more context at a glance.

Here’s how it works:

  • The number counters represent unread messages
  • A purple counter indicates unread messages in regular chats
  • A red counter indicates unread messages in urgent chats

In addition:

  • A red dot appears when you have unread messages in chats you are assigned to or following
  • The same red dot also appears directly on the patient chart, so you don’t miss active conversations

This makes it easy to distinguish between general unread messages and those that may require immediate attention.

Not Seeing Unread Messages?

If the counter shows unread messages but you don’t see them in the list, it’s usually related to filters.

The fastest way to resolve this:

  1. Clear your current filters
  2. Apply the “Unread” filter

Filters can hide conversations even if they still contain unread messages.
