Patient Web Portal Overview

The Patient Portal allows patients to securely communicate with their practice directly from a browser. The interface is fully responsive and automatically adjusts to the screen, allowing patients to use the portal comfortably on both desktop and mobile devices.

Using the portal helps keep communication organized and ensures important information stays connected to the patient chart.

Accessing the Portal

Patients can access it at patient.sigmamd.com/.

If they already have a SigmaMD Patient App account, they can use the same email and password to log in. If not, they should click on "Create account" to sign up.

What Patients Can Do in the Portal

Secure Messaging

Patients can send secure messages directly to your care team. Messages appear in the Chat section of the clinician interface, where you can review, respond, and manage the conversation.

File Sharing

Patients can upload attachments during a conversation. Files appear directly inside the chat and are also visible in the chat details panel for quick reference.

Broadcast Messages

Patients can receive broadcast messages from the clinic through the portal. These messages are informational and may include updates such as holiday hours, clinic announcements, or important reminders. Broadcast messages are one-way and cannot be replied to by the patient.

Multiple Practices and Caregiver Profiles

If a patient is connected to multiple clinics using SigmaMD, they can interact directly with each practice in the portal.

The portal also supports caregiver access. This allows parents, guardians, or family members to manage communication and share information for someone they care for, while still accessing their own profile when needed.

Additional Features Available in the Patient App

Secure messaging is the first feature available in the Patient Portal, allowing patients to communicate with their care team directly from a browser without installing the mobile app.

Other features, such as appointment scheduling, lab results, and access to health records, are currently available through the SigmaMD patient mobile app and will be available at the Portal soon. Patients who need these features should download the app from their device’s app store.
