Custom Invoice PDFs

An invoice PDF normally carries the full breakdown of everything billed. When you need to share an employer invoice without all of that detail, a custom PDF lets you choose what the document shows.

The invoice itself never changes. Only the downloaded file is affected.

Downloading a custom PDF

Open an employer invoice and use the dropdown next to Edit:

• Download PDF produces the standard document with everything included
• Download custom PDF opens a dialog where you pick what appears
• Superbills offer the standard download only

Your choices apply to that one download, so the next person to open the invoice still sees it in full.

What you can control

The dialog groups the options into three sections:

• Summary — Group charge items by category and Group charges by cycles change how lines are organized.
• Memberships — Membership breakdown shows or hides the membership section, Anonymize masks member names inside it, and Drill down by seat, Show seat amounts and Show cycle dates control how much per-seat detail appears.
• Charge Items — Charge items breakdown shows or hides charge items, and the select below it sets the level of detail: Drill down by item or Drill down by category.

Turning off a parent option hides the settings nested under it, so the dialog only offers choices that still apply.

Employer settings

Custom PDFs are available on employer invoices only. An employer can have these preferences saved on its record, in the Invoicing Rules card on the employer’s screen: the Invoice layout row holds the settings, and Reset to default clears them. Once saved, that employer’s invoices download with those settings already applied, and you can still adjust them for a single download.

Patient invoices and superbills are not eligible — they offer the standard download only.
