Reading Diagnostic Results with Sigma AI

When a lab or imaging result arrives as a document, Sigma AI reads the file and pulls the individual results out of it, so you review structured values instead of retyping them from a PDF.

What happens when a file arrives

Sigma AI starts as soon as the document is attached:

• It scans the file and extracts the test results it finds
• The extracted results appear for review rather than being filed automatically
• You confirm, correct, or discard what it found

Nothing reaches the patient's chart until a person reviews it.

Reviewing the extraction

Two messages tell you when the extraction is incomplete:

• Sigma AI scanned only the first 30 pages of this file. Check the rest for missed results. — long documents are read up to a limit
• No diagnostic results found in the file. — the file had nothing recognizable, and the document is still attached

In both cases the original document stays available, so you can read the parts Sigma AI did not cover.

Accuracy and feedback

Every extraction carries the reminder that Sigma AI is evolving; please review output for accuracy. Where the extraction was wrong or unhelpful, leave feedback from the result — it is the signal used to improve the reading.

Reviewing before filing keeps an AI misreading from becoming part of the patient's record.
