Reordering a Clinic-Dispensed Medication

Patients on ongoing in-house treatment often need the same medication again. Reordering starts a new dispense from a previous one, so you don't have to enter the same details twice.

Reordering a Medication

Open the patient's chart, go to the Medications tab, hover over a medication, and click Reorder.

The Dispense Medication screen opens with the previous order already filled in:

The medication, when it's still in stock at the selected location
Quantity, Refills, Days supply, and Patient directions
For injectables: dose, route, and site, with you as administering clinician
Today's date as the start or administration date

Review the details, adjust anything that changed, and click Add to continue as with any new dispense.

Important Considerations

Reorder appears only on Clinic dispensed medications
The button is hidden for non-clinical users
If the medication is out of stock at the selected location, it isn't prefilled; select it again
