Refill Reminder Tasks for Dispensed Medications

When you dispense a medication in-house, SigmaMD can create a task to remind you when the patient may need more. The reminder lands in your tasks on the right day, so refills don't depend on memory.

Turning On a Refill Reminder

On the Dispense Medication screen, below Refills, turn on Refill reminder task and enter the number of days in Due in (1 to 365). Enter the days before adding the medication to the order.

What Happens When You Dispense

When the order is dispensed, SigmaMD creates a task:

• Titled Medication Refill for [medication name]
• Linked to the patient
• Assigned to you, the clinician who dispensed
• Due the number of days you set after the dispense date

You can open the task to edit it like any other task.

Important Considerations

• The reminder is not available for injectables
• Each medication in the order has its own reminder setting.
