Enabling and Managing Urgent Chats

SigmaMD gives you the option to identify high-priority conversations quickly using the Urgent Chat feature. When enabled, this setting allows patients to flag a chat as urgent when starting a new message. These chats are then clearly marked in your inbox, helping your team respond promptly.

 

How It Works

By default, urgent chats are disabled. To turn the feature on, go to Practice SettingsCommunication, and enable Urgent Chats.

 

Once activated, patients will see an option to flag their message as urgent when initiating a chat through the SigmaMD Patient App. If they choose this option, the conversation will show a visual indicator in the inbox for faster triage.

 

Managing Urgency

Regardless of whether the setting is enabled for patients, you and your team can always manually mark or unmark any chat as urgent from within the chat or inbox view.

This allows internal flexibility to escalate or de-escalate conversations as needed.
