This article will guide you through the process of stopping a medication within SigmaMD. After completing this process, the medication status will automatically sync with Dr. First as an inactive medication the next time you open its modal.
Step-by-Step Guide to Stopping a Medication
Step 1: Access the Patient Chart in SigmaMD
Log in to your SigmaMD account and navigate to the chart of the patient for whom you want to stop a medication. Scroll down until you find the Health Data section on the patient’s chart.
Step 2: Identify the Medication
In the Health Data section, you'll find the 'Medications' list where medications are categorized with labels such as 'Active,' 'Completed,' and 'Not Taken.'
To stop a medication, look for the pencil icon located to the right of the medication name you wish to stop. Click on this icon to edit the medication details.
Step 3: Set the End Date
In the editing window, you’ll find an option to set an 'End date' for the medication. This date can either be immediate or set for a future date. The medication will be stopped automatically once this date is reached. After setting the End date, confirm your changes to complete the process.
Syncing with Dr. First
The next time you launch the Dr. First modal, the records will automatically sync. The medication you've stopped in SigmaMD will now appear as an 'Inactive Medication' in Dr. First.
