This article aims to clarify some of the most frequently asked questions about using Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMP) in DrFirst.
What Types of PDMP Reports Can Be Generated by DrFirst?
Users can request PDMP reports within a specified time range by contacting our support team. These reports will include the Provider's NPI, First Name, Last Name, Outcome Success, Day of Query Date, and PDMP Query Count.
Can I Integrate PDMP Data Across Multiple States?
Yes, you can integrate PDMP data from multiple states in two ways:
- Single-State Facilities: If your facility is located in a single state but you'd like access to data from neighboring states, submit a Datashare Request for the additional states.
- Multi-State Facilities: If your facility operates in multiple states, it may be possible to integrate PDMP data for those states. This is subject to state regulations and your facility setup within DrFirst. For more information, please contact our support team.
Is an Active State PMP Login Required?
Yes, an active state PMP login is necessary to use DrFirst PDMP. Your credentials will be verified against the state database, and lacking an active account will result in a PDMP error.
Can My Staff Access PDMP Data on My Behalf?
No, due to legal constraints, only prescribers can view PDMP data via DrFirst's PDMP integration.
Why Can't I Access Specific Patient PDMP Data in DrFirst?
If you are unable to pull specific patient data in DrFirst but can access it on the state website, the most likely issue is a discrepancy in patient demographics. Please compare the information on both platforms and correct any inconsistencies.
What If the PDMP Data Is Incorrect?
If you find incorrect data within the state PMP website, report the issue directly to them. DrFirst is not the source of this data; it simply pulls information from the state databases.
Do New Practice Locations Have PDMP Enabled?
No, even if your practice is enabled for PDMP, new practice locations won't automatically have PDMP enabled. You'll need to submit a request to enable PDMP for the new location.
Does My State Fund NarxCare Details in PDMP Reports?
NarxCare details are included in standard PDMP reports if your state funds them. If your state does not fund NarxCare details, you may incur additional charges for selecting 'Yes' under Enhanced Report options.
