How to Add a Note to the Patient Lab Result

SigmaMD allows clinicians to add notes to patient lab results, providing important context or guidance. Follow these steps to add or edit a note to a lab result.

Step 1: Access the Patient's Lab Results

• Open the Patient Chart.
• Click the Labs button at the top of the screen.
  • Note: On smaller screens, click Overview to expand the menu and select Labs.

Step 2: Locate the Lab Result

• In the Labs screen, find the test result you want to add a note to.
• Hover over the test result—two buttons will appear.
• Click View Results to open the lab result details.

Step 3: Adding or Editing a Note

• In the Lab Result screen, locate the Note to Patient section.
  • If a note already exists, it will be displayed.
• Click Edit Note to add a new note or modify an existing one.
• Enter your note in the text field (maximum 1,000 characters).
• Once satisfied, click Save.
• The text field will close, and the saved note will be visible for review.

Step 4: Patient View

• Once the note is saved, the patient will be able to read it when viewing their lab result in the SigmaMD Patient Mobile App.
