How to Change Item Markup Inherited from a Category

In SigmaMD, charge items may inherit their pricing markup from their parent category. If you’d like to update the markup for these items, you’ll need to update the markup at the category level. Follow the steps below:

Step 1: Navigate to Charge Item Categories

1. Go to the Billing section in the left-hand menu.
2. Click on Charge Items, then select the Categories tab.

Step 2: Edit the Category Markup

1. Locate the category that contains the item whose markup you wish to change.
2. Hover over the category row to reveal the Edit category button.
3. Click Edit category, then adjust the Markup field as needed.
4. Click Save to apply changes.

💡 All items inheriting markup from this category will now reflect the updated markup rate. If an item is not inheriting markup, it must be updated individually from the Items tab.
