When the eRx (ePrescribe) button is disabled in a patient chart, it will appear greyed out and unclickable. This article outlines the most common reasons for this and how to resolve each issue.
1. ePrescribe Not Yet Configured for the Clinic or Clinician
If the clinic or clinician hasn't completed the DoseSpot registration and onboarding process, the eRx functionality will remain disabled.
Solution: Contact support to complete the setup and enable ePrescribe.
2. Patient Has No Address on File
A valid patient address is required for ePrescribing. If the patient lacks this, you will see a warning in the chart's left sidebar.
Solution: Click on the warning message to open the patient details screen and add an address.
3. Patient Is Under 19 and Has No Vitals Recorded
For patients under 19 years old, at least one height and weight vital record is required before the eRx button can be used.
Solution: Go to the Vitals tab in the patient chart and click Add vitals to record this information.
If none of these situations apply and the button remains disabled, please reach out to our support team for assistance.
