Updating Phone Number & Resending App Code
If a patient is unable to receive the SigmaMD Patient App registration code via SMS after following the troubleshooting steps in this article, you may use an alternative SMS-capable phone number to complete the registration process.
Step 1: Obtain an Alternate Phone Number
- Google Voice: Patients can set up a free Google Voice number which supports receiving SMS messages.
- Other SMS-Capable Numbers: Any phone number capable of receiving standard text messages can be used.
Step 2: Update the Patient's Phone Number
- Update the patient’s phone number in SigmaMD to reflect the new SMS-capable number.

Step 3: Resend the Registration Code (For Account Creation Only)
- If the patient is still in the registration process (account not yet created), navigate to the patient’s profile and resend the registration invitation.

Note: Step 3 is only necessary when creating a new account. For patients who have already registered and are simply logging back in, this step is not required.
