Troubleshooting Patient Signup

If a patient is having trouble getting past the first step of creating their SigmaMD account, there are a few common reasons to check first. Most signup issues can be resolved quickly with the right information.

1. Email mismatch

Patients must use the same email address that your clinic has on file in SigmaMD. If they try to register with a different email, they won’t receive the verification code and won’t be able to proceed.

Tip: Confirm the email listed in the patient’s profile before asking them to try again.

2. Incorrect verification code

Make sure the patient is entering the code exactly as shown in the message. The code is case-sensitive and must be typed correctly.

3. Using an old code

If you or the patient requested multiple verification codes, only the most recent one will work. Entering an earlier code will result in an error.

4. Invitation expired 

Invitation codes expire after a short period of time. If the patient waited too long to enter it, they’ll need a new one.
