Overview of Shipping in SigmaMD

Shipping in SigmaMD allows practices to seamlessly manage product deliveries—whether it's supplements, medications, or health supplies—directly from the patient invoice. This built-in integration streamlines fulfillment, tracking, and record-keeping from start to finish.

What You Can Ship

You can ship any physical item added to a patient invoice, including both inventory and non-inventory items. Commonly shipped items include:

  • In-office dispensed medications
  • Over-the-counter products
  • Supplements
  • Devices or monitoring tools

Employer-covered invoices are not eligible for shipping.

How Shipping Works

Once your practice connects with Shippo under Practice Settings > Integrations, shipping options become available inside draft invoices.

From there, you can:

  • Add shipping after the charge items are added to the invoice
  • Choose a shipping method from the available carriers and rates
  • Include a packing slip
  • Set shipment details like dimensions, weight, and delivery instructions
  • Print shipping labels and track shipments directly from the invoice or the Shipping History tab

If needed, you can remove shipping (before issuing the invoice) or cancel a label (if it hasn’t been used yet). Disconnecting Shippo will hide all shipping functionality.

Where to Manage Shipments

  • Inside invoices: Create and manage shipment details as you build your invoice.
  • Shipping History: Access a full log of past shipments in the Billing section, including status updates, tracking numbers, shipping costs, and downloadable labels.
  • Reports & CSVs: Export shipping data for reconciliation and tracking at scale.
