Understanding the Personal Preferences Screen

Customize how SigmaMD behaves for you. These settings affect how information is displayed, and help you work in a way that feels familiar and efficient.

You can update these preferences at any time, and changes apply immediately to your account.

How to update your personal preferences

Go to Personal Settings and then click on Preferences.

Auto-lock new clinical notes

You can choose to have all new clinical notes created as locked by default, preventing them from being shared with patients.

When this option is enabled, all your clinical notes start in a locked state, but you can still unlock them individually.

Vital Measurement Preferences

Default units

Set which measurement system you prefer to use:

  • Imperial
  • Metric

This setting controls how the form for vital measurements is displayed when adding or editing entries, saving you the time of adjusting it each time. It can still be manually adjusted later, if needed.

Show weight in lbs and oz

If you’re using Imperial units, you can also choose to have weight in pounds and ounces instead of pounds only. This is especially helpful in pediatric and newborn care.

Important

  • Personal preferences are specific to your user account.
  • These settings don’t affect other clinicians in your practice.
  • You can update them anytime as your workflow or preferences change.
