Release Notes - July 17, 2025
This week’s update brings long-awaited tools for medication inventory and dispensing—along with several workflow improvements to make your day smoother.
Inventory Tracking for Charge Items
You can now manage in-stock medications and other charge items in SigmaMD. Each item tracks:
- Total stock (by lot or batch)
- Expiration dates
- Usage history per patient
Inventory items can be configured with package sizes, NDC codes, and automatic adjustments when dispensed or manually updated.
Medication Dispensing
Prescribe and dispense directly from the patient's chart. Just choose the inventory lot, enter quantity, and SigmaMD will:
- Deduct stock
- Generate labels
- Attach documentation to the patient chart
Sales History in Patient Billing
There’s a new Sales History tab under each patient's Payments section, making it easier to track dispensed items and associated charges in one place.
Other Improvements
- Snippets + Rich Text now work in fax and referral descriptions
- Faster enrollment when using the platform for single-visit patients
- Scribe Enhancements: Better formatting and structure in generated clinical notes
- Patient Files: You can now rename and move system-created file entries
- Birthday Notifications: An email will be sent to patients on their birthday.
