At SigmaMD, we're committed to elevating the efficiency of your clinical practice and enhancing patient care. Our Clinical Notes feature is designed to transform your patient documentation process. Dive in to discover its features and harness its full potential.
Initiating Seamless Clinical Notes
As you commence a patient encounter, the interface presents a designated text field for crafting clinical notes. Designed for simplicity and efficiency, this interface paves the way for detailed, structured, and organized documentation.
Maximize the formatting tools available:
- Emphasize text using bold, italic, and underlined styles.
- On a Mac, use 'Command + B' for bold, 'Command + I' for italic, and 'Command + U' for underline.
- On Windows, use 'Control + B' for bold, 'Control + I' for italic, and 'Control + U' for underline.
- Structure your notes with ordered (numbered) and unordered (bulleted) lists.
- Use headers in two distinct sizes for better clarity.
- Use markdown for quicker formatting.
**text**
or__text__
for bold text.*text*
or_text_
for italic text.#
followed by a space creates an H1 header, and##
followed by a space creates an H2 header.
- Utilize the undo (cmd + z) and redo (cmd + shift + z) functions as needed.
Advancing Your Clinical Documentation
SigmaMD's Clinical Notes houses dynamic features that not only speed up the documentation process but also add depth to it.
- Templates: Begin with the
/
shortcut to embed pre-configured text snippets curated by you or peers from your practice. They're invaluable for note templates or frequently used phrases. Dive deeper into templates and their creation here. - Variables: Use the
$
shortcut to swiftly insert predefined data from the patient chart, such as$patientAge
for age or$patientFullName
for the full name. A comprehensive list of variables can be found here. - Note Blockers: By using
{{!}}
in your notes, you create a note blocker. These markers ensure you remember to include vital information in your notes before signing. A note cannot be finalized or signed off until all note blockers have been addressed and removed. This guarantees that crucial details aren't missed, reinforcing the thoroughness and accuracy of your documentation.
To implement templates and variables:
- Type
/
for templates or$
for variables. - A dropdown list will present suggestions.
- Narrow down choices by continuing to type.
- Select the desired option to integrate it into your note.
Securing Your Work
Document preservation is crucial:
- Auto-Save Functionality: As you draft your notes, SigmaMD consistently saves your progress, but be mindful of potential interruptions due to exceeding the character limit or internet connectivity issues.
- Signing Off: Once you're satisfied with your entry, you can solidify it by signing off. Although editable post-signature, each subsequent modification is meticulously logged for transparency and data integrity. Once signed, the patient can view the note in the SigmaMD mobile app.
At SigmaMD, our aim is to reduce documentation hassles and elevate patient care. We constantly refine the Clinical Notes interface and expand our variable list, ensuring a seamless note-taking experience. Every note crafted signifies our commitment to exceptional patient care. We're excited for future enhancements that will further enrich your documentation journey.
